Traditional Civil Wedding (Brief Example)
Good afternoon/Evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome. We are gathered here today in Central Park, in the face of this company, to join together (Groom's Name) and (Bride's Name) in matrimony; which is an honorable and solemn estate and therefore is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently and soberly. Into this estate these two persons present come now to be joined.
If any one can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace. Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Parents:
We do.
__________, turn to your bride, join hands and please repeat after me:
I __________________take you_______________ To be my loving wife,
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better for worse,
for richer for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish forever..............................................................................................................................................
